ABB Bank takes another step to boost Azerbaijan’s capital markets

Secondary market trading in ABB Bank shares has now been launched in the Bank’s ABB mobile app.

ABB Bank has taken another important step to support the development of Azerbaijan’s capital markets. Secondary market trading in ABB Bank shares has now been launched through the Bank’s ABB mobile app. ABB Bank shareholders can use the app to monitor their share portfolios and trade shares.

It should be noted that, in accordance with the relevant Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on measures to attract private investment to state-owned enterprises, ABB Bank successfully carried out the first public offering of its shares. This process, which contributes to the development of Azerbaijan’s capital markets, concluded with a historic result. As a result of the placement, the number of ABB Bank shareholders increased from 1,794 to 35,105. Following the share placement, the proportion of ABB Bank’s shares held by private shareholders rose to 7.8%. In a relatively short period, such a significant number of new participants entered Azerbaijan’s capital markets.

During the subscription process, ABB Bank introduced innovative methods for the first time by enabling investors to submit their orders through the ABB mobile app. The convenience and accessibility of the ordering process played a major role in encouraging active investor participation. The launch of secondary market trading in ABB Bank shares through the ABB mobile app as of today is expected to significantly boost activity in Azerbaijan’s capital markets.
